Meet Destiny

Born in Los Angeles, CA, grew up in East LA. Left and now I am back with an art studio in West Hollywood. At the age of 9, family moved to Colorado and I stayed there for 17 years .. too long. Always felt like I wasn’t from there yet I wasn’t from here. It’s like wherever I went I was looking for where I was from. And the older I get the more I understand that we create the home within.

Art has allowed me to process many life changing perspectives that was exposed at early ages and till this day continues to. I never thought I would be drawn to a fabric so much as I have tried to let it go many times, it is clear my mind itself is covered in denim. The most precious thing I’ve discovered with this cloth… is the stories people come to me with and how this heavy textile can unravel many delicate moments, yet be present in everyone’s life. Denim is simular to the element of water… necessary and transformational.
